Perhaps the most iconic work of Stoic philosophy, “Meditations” was written by Marcus Aurelius Antoninus, Roman emperor from 161 to 180 AD. It is believed that his work was never meant to be published, but only to serve as notes and reminders to himself about the nature of man, his responsibilities, his trials and tribulations.
