What would you create for 225k+ sats for the Public Domain?

WHAT:
A free-for-all contest (Satoshee Strategy employees and immediate family excluded) for artists/writers/coders of any kind to submit proposals as to what they would create for 225,289 sats (~0.00225 BTC) for the public domain. The Satoshee company, Satoshee users as well as nostr users and sponsors of the contest can vote on who wins the prize and what will be commissioned to be created. There will also be a raffle with small prizes (2x$50 USD Satoshee gift cards) given out randomly to those who participate in the voting process and/or share info about the contest on the web.
WHEN:
7-21 February: Collecting donations / negotiations with sponsors, preliminary note on nostr (the zaps to which will go to the main prize)
22 February – 22 March: Accepting proposals from artists, promoting the contest (zapvertising on nostr)
23-31 March – Voting on what will be commissioned
1-30 April – The timeframe for the artist to deliver on the promised works. 50% of the prize will be given to the winner prior to beginning the work, 50% after the work has been finished. The prize will be delivered in bitcoin via the Lightning Network.
1 May 2025 (latest): The work will be published on the Satoshee website and released into the public domain for anyone to use/copy/modify

A raffle of 2x$50 Satoshee gift cards between people who participate in the voting process (sponsor companies excluded)
60,000 sats zapvertising budget for the zapvertisers
WHAT CAN BE PROPOSED:
The artist should propose a work to be created and released into the Public Domain, which can be any artform that can be stored and distributed in a digital manner (i.e. books, essays, music, photos, code, video, etc.). The artist should also propose the format(s) of the work to be delivered. The work should be something that has not been published anywhere before. The time to deliver on the work is up to 1 month.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE (ARTISTS):
Anyone (Satoshee Strategy employees and immediate family excluded) can submit ideas / proposals as to what they would create for the prize. Links to previous works / accolades / social media presence is not required, but highly recommended as a Proof of (previous) Work.
WHO CAN VOTE:
Satoshee company/employees (Kontext), registered members of SATOSH.EE, nostr members who have zapped one or more specified notes, Sponsor companies. The weight of the users/companies votes will be calculated as follows:
Companies/Sponsors:
Satoshee Strategy / Kontext: 1111 votes
Sponsor: 500 votes
SATOSH.EE registered members:
Orange 21 membership: 1000 votes
Orange membership: 100 votes
Gold membership: 20 votes
Silver membership: 10 votes
Standard/free membership: 1 vote
Zapped nostr users / Geyser supporters:
1-99 sats zapped: 1 vote
100-999 sats zapped: 3 votes
1000-9999 sats zapped: 5 votes
10,000+ sats zapped: 10 votes
Note: No matter how many votes a user has, they can only pick 1 winner

VOTE AND/OR SHARE = PARTICIPATE IN A RAFFLE:
To incentivize sharing and promoting the details of the contest, 2x $50 USD Satoshee gift cards will be given randomly to users who vote and/or share info about it on the internet.
Entries to the raffle will be given out as follows:
Voting for the winner: 1 entry
Note on nostr / YouTube video / blog post about the contest: 3 entries
Post on X / Instagram (a public post or reel, stories excluded) / TikTok video: 1 entry
Note: You may complete the task for extra entries once per each platform
ZAPVERTISING:
The contest will be promoted on all Satoshee Strategy social media, as well as Kontextâs personal and Open Source Culture channels. To further the reach, a budget of 60k sats is set for Zapvertising on nostr.
Zaps / sats will flow to the users who share the contest announcement and voting announcement notes on nostr and especially to those who tag their favorite artists when doing so. If posting about the contest on other social media platforms aside from nostr, and you have the same username/handle there as on nostr, feel free to tag Satoshee in order to also increase the âthank youâ zap đ
ADDITIONAL RULES / INFO:
- Up to 3 proposals per artist
- You cannot vote for yourself
- Artists cannot propose a work they have already completed/published
- The work has to be fully original and/or the artist must have full rights for the assets that are to be used
- The artist waives all rights to their work once it is published
- The artist will have 1 month (April 2025) from winning the contest to the deadline by which the completed works should be delivered to opensourceculture@satosh.ee
- The artist may not share the completed work publicly before it has been published on the Satoshee website
- 50% of the winnings will be paid in advance and 50% will be paid after delivering the works. Payments will be made in bitcoin via the Lightning Network
- The work will also be shared on the Open Source Culture nostr account – if the artist has an npub, then the note will feature a 50/50 zap split between OSC Fund and the artist
- If the artist doesnât adhere to one or more rules of contest or tries to cheat in any other manner, he or she may be disqualified and deprived from the winnings
HINTS & TIPS:
- The proposal does not have to be nostr or bitcoin related
- You may also create your work in the physical space and share only photo(s), video(s) or other derivatives of it (in this case you can also keep the physical original)
- Zapvertisers: comment and tag your favorite artists in the announcement note/post!
- Artists: invite your friends & fans to vote!
- You can be an artist, a zapvertiser and a voter! (only you canât vote for yourself)
