It has been a busy couple of weeks but rest assured, Satoshee is just getting started. A couple of important updates:
- We are going Bitcoin only, baby! Yes. You heard it right. Apparently not many fiat payment processors approve of a business model whose main focus is the resale of other businesses’ gift cards. Well, to be completely honest I’m also not a big fan of 3% (or higher) transaction fees, fraud & chargebacks, or the fact that a payment processor is just another potential point of failure. While I would love to serve pre-coiners and use the great offers of Satoshee to covertly orange-pill them, I do think that when they see offers they might be interested in, seeing they can only be purchased for bitcoin, they might make the leap and learn how to use it. It is our job to make the offers worthwhile the trouble
- Related to point #1; “payment in bitcoin” discounts have been removed. In an effort to make the Loyalty Program easier and more straightforward as well, so has the LP cashback on own purchases been removed. The old 2% bitcoin discount and the 1% LP cashback have been added straight onto the original discounts. This means all products now have a 3% (or in some cases, even more) higher discount out of the box – whether you are a registered member or not. You will still earn LP on your referrals’ purchases of Gift Cards (0.1-1%), Discount Codes (0.2-2%) as well as Memberships (5-21%)

- An experimental new feature: custom AI-powered designs for gift cards! If you are getting the gift card for your friends or family (Christmas is right around the corner!), you can now choose to get a special design for it. Just enter what you want the gift card to look like and we will create 4 high quality custom gift card designs for you to make the final choice from. As the process is semi-manual, the AI-powered designs will take up to 72 hours to be delivered. The semi-manual method for delivery may be preferred because that allows for us to give the Human Touch Guarantee – if the AI programs completely mess up your images or misunderstand the description – an actual person can modify the query, the AI settings, etc. The cost of the service is $5 USD.
Here are a couple of sample designs I used to give away some Satoshee Gift Cards at the Auckland Plebs meetup a few days ago. If you look closely, you may notice a couple of the designs feature actual gift card codes. First come, first serve – if you’re quick enough to redeem them before anyone else (if you got one in Auckland don’t worry – I didn’t re-use the codes), you can add them to your Satoshee Wallet or use them directly at checkout in the “Coupon code” field.
